Geography teahers' conference

Latvian and Lithuanian Geography teachers met in Joniškis on the 6th of February.

More than 30 teachers from Kelmė, Akmenė, Joniškis districts and Alūksne Latvia took part in the International Geography teachers conference, that was held on the 6th of February in Joniškis "Aušros" gymnasium. The main theme of this conference was to share geography teachers' experience between Lithuanian and Latvian teachers.
The conference programme included reports related to Geography teaching methodology, new teaching methods, possibility to learn Geography outside school. The teacher from Alūksne gymnasium introduced Lithuanian colleagues with the educational system of Latvia and geography teaching in Latvia. Teachers from Lithuania could compare differences and similarities of Geography teaching in neighboring countries.
One day event was designed with reports framework, lunch and excursion around Joniškis and Basketball museum visit, that provided teachers informal communication.
